		<description><![CDATA[Cool. Sad in a way, but the mills grind slowly sometimes. My second-oldest sis is at right, Colleen Miyano. She did a great job behind the scenes, and in making a speech. Like all the kids in our fam, we&#039;re proud graduates of good old Belmont High.

In 1942, on the heels of the Pearl Harbor disaster, just before the Evacuation, that dark and unknowing time when the loyal JA community was backed against a wall, the student body defended their selection of a student body president. He was a Nisei boy.

And later, another Hilltopper (Sentinels is the official mascot name) would make his choice. He went with his pals to camp, he went to Manzanar—Ralph Lazo. He graduated from Manzanar High, and is easy to spot in the class graduation photo.]]></description>
